History

From colonization (17th century) to the Quiet Revolution (1960), Charlevoix is a typical model of subsistence agriculture. This type of agriculture, called agro-sylvo-pastoral, is based on a balance between the cultivation of wood, hay and grain, in addition to market gardening, dairy and animal production.

In the 1950s, mechanization and new fertilizers and synthetic products made agriculture easier. Families are becoming fewer and fewer and the land is falling apart. The forest regains its rights on pastures ...

In 2015, Pierre du Moulin gave himself a mandate to take over some of these abandoned lands and to start a project for the production of organic grains. The company wants to work with regional producers to revitalize the culture of Charlevoix.
